A Great Day for A Sale

There were so many good books on sale today - I had to create a post just to share the love! The first one up is Becky Wade's Undeniably Yours. This is the first book in her Porter Family Series.

When Meg Cole's father dies unexpectedly, she returns to Texas to take control of his empire. One part of that empire she has no energy for or interest in - his thoroughbred racehorse farm. She gives manager Bo Porter six months to shut it down. While a part of him struggles with resentment toward his new boss, another part of  Bo is overcome with a desire to protect her. A fragile bond is formed between the two, but is broken by a specter from Meg's past. Will their affection for each other and their mutual love for God survive when circumstances take a frightening turn?

Becky wade is one of my favorites. There's always humor in her books and she writes characters you know you'd be friends with. And spiritually speaking, she writes real - the struggles her characters face in their faith seem familiar. I like that in a book. Her books are in generally in the don't bother me unless someone is bleeding or unconscious category for me. This one is $2.99 on kindle right now.

Next up is Shadows of the Past by Patricia Bradley -

Talylor Martin’s job as both Psychology professor and a criminal profiler was to dig into people’s minds – to figure out what makes them tick. But that wasn’t helping her discover what happened to her father 20 years ago. Or who was stalking her. But a clue left at a murder scene reignites hope and sends her to the town of Logan Point, Mississippi. Mystery novelist Nick Sinclair is wrestling with guilt over his wife’s death while he looks for his estranged brother. His search seems to point to his brother as Taylor’s stalker. Determined to prove his brother’s innocence and help Taylor find the truth, Nick offers his help.

What follows is a thrilling and suspenseful mystery that seamlessly weaves in an important spiritual truth about the struggle we have when God doesn’t seem to answer our prayers.

I just did a review about this book for our church newsletter, so I'm thrilled to see it on sale. Mississippi author Pat Bradley does a stellar job of building unexpected mysteries, sprinkling in sweet romance and layering the whole story with the grace of God. If I'm in the mood for a good, romantic suspense, she's one of my favorites. This one makes me want to curl up in my favorite chair with a cup of coffee and a warm blanket.

It's $1.99 for the kindle right now -

Next up is a classic. Dee Henderson's Danger in the Shadows -

Reclusive author Sara Walsh has worked her way back from a tragic childhood, but there's still a part of it that puts her at risk, so she stays out of the public eye. Former pro football player is intrigued by the woman he meets by chance in his building, but he's anything but invisible. As their friendship deepens to something more, an unseen menace threatens them both.

This is the first in a series of books about the O'Malleys, a group of foster children who bonded together to create their own family. This series is one of Christian fictions all time best sellers - and it earns the title. It's a taut thriller, with great characters and a seamless spirituality woven throughout. But beware - once you start, you'll want to read the rest of the series! This book introduced me to an entire series that made me want to hide away from everything to read it.

It's on sale right now for the kindle for $2.99

The final pick of the night is Elizabeth Camden's Beyond All Dreams -

Anna O'Brian worked as a librarian at the Library of Congress when she stumbled across a mystery involving a ship that disappeared at sea. She goes to a disgraced Congressman Luke Callahan for help. He's eager to find a new cause to redeem himself and intrigued by the young librarian, he joins forces with the young librarian. Anna and Luke are soon embroiled in secrets much bigger and more dangerous than they ever imagined.

Elizabeth Cameron is wonderful at writing historical fiction and she picks interesting and unique settings that end up adding fascinating dimensions to both her plots and characters. Every book of hers sends me looking for a quiet place to read in peace, and they always get reread.

This one's a steal at $1.99
